Crafternoon Hen Party 17th August 2013

This Sunday saw nine hens descend upon The Marksman pub to get crafty and make some monsters. After having an excellent Sunday lunch they embarked on 3 hours of fun and crafting to create these wonderful monsters.

Cushion making with my niece Mae

measuring up choosing ribbons sewing cushions

I was looking after my niece one Sunday this summer holidays, we had walked around East London but were looking for something a bit more crafty. After a stop at Beyond Fabrics a great fabric store on Columbia Road we headed home to raid my ribbon and embellishments tin. Mae designed and made 2 cushions in one afternoon. A sunday well spent !

Jungle cushions’s for Miss P’s room

Harlequin fabric Harlequin cushions

When I was a child my mother decorated my bedroom with brown Harlequin fabric Jungle Book curtain, I can remember staring at them for hours and willing the animals to come alive. I couldn’t find any of the original fabric but they have a new version which I bought for Miss P’s room. Jungle Jamboree!

You can find the fabric here:

Crafternoon @ Green Man Festival 19th-21st August 2011

Crafternoon had a fabulous time, as I write this I am wearing my Green Man t-shirt and plotting how to get there next year.  We were in the Future Gen field and thanks to Emily’s fabulous organising skills we had a smooth 3 days of monster making.  A total of 55 monsters were born at Green Man 2011!

Day 1 Fri – Carter and I set up at 10am in the sun and we were soon busy with eager kids wanting to make monsters. The creativity displayed never fails to amaze me and we loved seeing everyone getting so involved.

Day 2 Sat – The threat of rain made sure that Kaz, Carter & I were there on the dot of 10am to start in the CREATE tent, the rain brought out the dads & younger festival goers and again monster making went down a storm.

Day 3 Sun – Coffee chased away our hangovers and we got on the monster making straight away. Harry came and made a 2nd monster and then decorated our Green Man and Kaz seemed to enjoy himself more than the kids…
